BLACK BELT GRADING NOV 09

A huge congratulations to our students who participated in this test. We had a clean sweep with Alex Oates and Jack Shirley from the junior class and Tony Head from the adult class obtaining their black belts and to James Oates who passed his 2nd star and junior assistant instructor Ryan Lloyd who passed his 3rd star.

It was a tough grading held over in Coventry and the students were tested both physically and mentally and held up very well through their nerves to get their well deserved achievements!!

Well done everyone!!!!

GTUK Regional Tournament

Well done to the 4 students who represented Olton abd the Midlands region in the aboce tournament. The students came back with an impressive medal haul and Mr Williams even added a bloodied nose and black eye into the equation!! Well done to:

Jack Hendry-Kenny - Gold free sparring 13-14yrs and Bronze 13-14yrs Patterns

Joe Hendry-Kenny - Bronze in both patterns and free sparring 15-16yrs

Ryan Lloyd - Bronze black belt free sparring 15-16yrs

Stephen Williams - Silver free sparring adults

Congratulations in helping the Midlands be placed 4th this year

I hope you all have had a fantastic summer break and are ready to resume training tonight!! I know I don't need to remind those grading that we have 3 weeks before the grading so we need to work hard in the next few lessons. Hopefully you will have been practicing at home anyways so we will just need to refresh and get back in the swing of things!!

GRADING - MONDAY JUNE 15TH

Olton's 2nd quarter grading will be held at the school on Monday 15th June. Please be there by 6.00pm in order to get yourselves warmed up and have a bit of practice. Grading should start around 6.30 and we should be finished by 8pm.

You will be graded by Mr Archer V degree and the GTUK vice president.

On the night do everything the best you can with full power and full effort and make sure you have learnt your Korean!!!

British Invidual Championships April 25th

Congratulations to those students who represented Olton at the above tournament. 5 members went and competed and we came back with an impressive total of 5 medals. The results are postede below and photos will be added to the website shortly. Congratulations to everyone who compteded and especially to our Bristish Champion Jack Hendry Kelly who took the gold in free sparring. A couple of 4th places too were an excellen result even if they did just narrowly miss out on medals. I am very proud of everyone who competed they had to work hard through many rounds to get their medals.
